Welcome to your DREAM LIFE. This is a space where we believe your dreams can truly become a reality. So we’re going to break down how I build my yearly vision boards.
A vision board is a collage of images and affirmations that represents your goals and dreams. It’s a powerful tool that can help you focus on what you want to achieve and stay motivated as you work towards your goals.
The one thing you need to do before starting … start believing. If you choose to live everyday with the pursuit of building your dream life (and actually believing you can live it) it WILL come to you. When we put our focus into something, we begin to think about it more and more. This creates your momentum — when something is on your mind, you have more of a chance to act on it.
This activity it to help you step into this dream and imagine the possibilities.
Lets jump in;
Gather Your Materials:
I suggest building out a pinterest board or saving images on instagram, typing out themes / words that ignites a feeling. Try to get as specific as possible — can you imagine yourself in the photos? or better yet, can you actually put a photo of yourself in that photo?
If you’re creating your board on a poster, print out all of your photos + words, gather some tape or glue and you’re ready to go. Another great option is to build your board on canva – you can drag and drop your images on screen and print it out later.
Choose Your Themes:
Think about the areas of your life you want to focus on, such as career, relationships, health, personal growth, or travel. This will help you narrow down your choices as you gather images and affirmations. Again, try to get granular here: if you’re wanting to get a promotion, what type of promotion? how much do you want to be making? whats the company thats hiring / promoting you? Start to build out your future path and what it come to life!
Start Cutting and Pasting:
Arrange them on your poster board until you’re happy with the layout. You can also add handwritten affirmations or quotes to your vision board to jazz it us as well. I love adding my themes to specific areas of my board so there are different sections I can focus on.
Hang your vision board in a place where you’ll see it every day:
This could be in your bedroom, office, or somewhere else where you spend a lot of time. Seeing your vision board regularly will help you stay focused and motivated. With that being said — i believe this is something that is EXTREMELY important to you and you only. Yes, you can share goals and aspirations with others, but when we’re talking about specific life events that you’re wanting to build for yourself, that is a very personal thing. I like to hold on tight to my vision and stay focused in on my goals. I try not to let other opinions get in the way of this so I keep it in a space where I am the person that sees it most.
As you make progress towards your goals, take a few minutes each month to review your vision board and see if there are any changes you want to make. You can add new images or affirmations, or remove ones that no longer feel relevant. You’ll be surprised by with a little focus and fine tuning how close you can get to creating your dream life.
With consistency, focus, and putting in the work, its only a few choices away.
